True Blood Moments: My Craving

True Blood

My odd sense of ‘slightly Beatles mad obsession…’ with True Blood, Supernatural and anything else that happens to tickle my fancy can get creepy for folks who know me. I can’t decide on the tween fad of Team Eric or Team Bill, as I love both characters wholeheartedly, written and filmed of course! The actors’ chosen are perfect for the job too! Some book adaptations can be spoiled by TV or film due to over acting or under acting and that sucks. So far, so good!

As a tweeter and a Trubie, I had to follow various True Blood tweets and tweeters just to push my love it even higher. Honestly, I’m a typical fashion crazed wannabe writer who grew up with Friends and Sex and the City, so when they finished alongside Buffy, Angel and Charmed I was craving something more… something that could keep my brain tingling with deep fascination.

[Cue: True Blood and Supernatural]

Along came a spider… no A Vampire or a few. I have been hooked on True Blood for a while now, but the funny thing is, like Heroes, True Blood was aired on UK TV on other channels and no one seemed to know. True Blood was aired on FXUK early summer 2009. A few weeks after it finished (with my face looking lost and slightly frozen in time) adverts started popping up on the analogue channel, Channel 4. Oooh! I had to watch it again!

The thing was… and it’s something people have started to notice, when you watch the series on FXUK, a week or two later its out on DVD, then it airs on C4 a few months down the line. Like the total ‘sucker’ I am, I have been watching those episodes again! I’ve been reading the books religiously and I’m currently on book 5 and 6 as I couldn’t wait to find out extra stuff. A top of all that, I have posters, the soundtracks to vol.1 and vol.2, with Bad Things by Jace Everett as my ring tone! I didn’t go as far as creating themes for my desktop or phone yet… I’m working on it! At the moment, Supernatural has taken over.

I was interested to see how they would adapt Calisto to screen, and to my slight shock and excitement they had Maryann instead. Some may say they have taken from the books and flipped them and others may agree with me and say they’ve added to the ferocity of the story itself. The show and the books go hand in hand, and I’m a happy Trubie!

True Blood will be one of those shows that will last a lifetime, and who knows maybe 20 years after it has wrapped a movie or 2 may come out… I wonder?

True Blood Moments: Maryanne Tribute

I found this on YouTube whilst browsing True Blood info and videos as Jaynswiss inspired me to look up what Maryann’s character was. It turns out she’s a Maened, and the Maeneds’ danced erotically and murderously for the God of Wine Bacchus aka Dionysus. Scary women (ancient groupies… lol!) But you can summon them if you need help in livening up a party!!

Yeah, as a Witch I think not… Lol!

Enjoy!
