The Pounding of My Heart :: Music is Spiritual To Me

Florence + the Machine

I love music. It’s refreshing and inspiring. Being spiritual has dubbed the idea of calling myself ‘a musical hippie ja!’ Don’t ask me how or why, but I spend a lot of time in bed listening to music that I find uplifting and each and every song or tune has a personal message to me. Most recently is my love for Magnetic Man, Nero and Niki & The Dove. I will always be in love with Rammstein and Florence + the Machine as their words make me shiver.

Many a time have I gone to bed with my iPod blasting music into my ears, and I’m dreaming of performing with the musicians on stage in front of a crowd of screaming fans. Let me just point out I can sing in my head, and I am fantastic dancer… though in real life I dance very well u_u.

I often listen to the messages and the words and they make me wonder what the artists were thinking when they wrote such precious memories. My favourite ‘naughty pastime’ [believe it or not, I’m not normal… so this is huge for me] I love to close the curtains, turn the lights off and dance like a giraffe on ecstasy naked. Why? It feels freeing. Don’t get me wrong I don’t dance well when the room is pitch black, but it’s a great feeling. Hopefully the spirits who normally watch me don’t take any notice of me.

Enjoy the video and the song below, it is my ringtone at the moment and the album is super cheap!

  1. I agree with you, music is spiritually moving. My first experience with spirituality was through music. It touched me in a way nothing else had. Fab post, and I’m definitely gonna check out Niki and the Dove.
