My New Love: Folk A/W 2010

I am in love with this year’s new trend! Folk I can do… well not the trousers so much but everything else yup!! I came across this website and I’ve basically copied it into my personal fashion bible. Yup, I have a notebook I write random ideas in which are… well… good! 😛 Not that anyone will look at it or read it, but I’d love to be a stylist, but I’ve had too much rejection from non fashionable muggles that I just keep all that knowledge to myself! Hehe!!

So far I have collected a few pieces to see me through the autumn and winter. I’ve also found great advice on bringing my summer wardrobe through the autumn/winter transition, such as pairing dark tights with a summery dress/top. I’m falling in love with dresses again. I loved dresses as a child, and then I grew a little, became a teenager and learned to hate my body because of all the changes I was going through. Now I’m just starting to blossom and have managed to open my eyes to a world of artistic eloquence.

To get me to the point I’m at now, I went through the Goth, Soho/Bohemian trends and added the grunge style and created a mish mash of rock ‘n’ roll chic. That was… a long time ago! I’m so comfortable with the ‘different’ look that I was ecstatic when they brought in Folk. To me it’s a mix of Western hippy meets Eastern Europe and I just happen to be in the middle. Lucky me!

I’m going to mix up my style, with that of the High Street with Runway influences and try to enjoy autumn and winter feeling good as well as looking great!
